After some weeks getting familiar with the Royal Road platform, I decided to post there my first ever self-puublished book. The Child of Ragnarok
Regarding The Book
A combination of Mythology, Fantasy and some personal touches. This story follows a ‘Monster’ from the Norse Mythology. You may have heard of him as The World Serpent, Midgard Serpent, the Rival of Thor. Jormungandr is the son of Loki and the giantess witch Angrboda.
What if this Mythological Villain was not in reality, evil…
This story follows the events of Myths and the Twilight of the Gods, also known as Ragnarok from the eyes of this Monstrous Giant. What if he was in reality just missunderstood , and what made him look evil was in reality the decisions and acts of the Aesir Gods, such as Thor and Odin.
God of War
The Video Game God of War 2018, which follows Kratos in the Norse Mythological world, was the initiator of this story. Jormungandr appears in the game not as a villain but as someone willing to assist you in your Journey, after you actually try and listen and talk to him. I enjoyed this concept of the missunderstood Giant. Just because he is Giant, Huge and unimaginably strong with a monstrous appearance, does not mean that he has to be a villain.
With this Book I have combined a lot of Norse Myths and Events in Mythology, with some personal touches of Fantasy. And finally adding the existence of the Video Game in the Books universe, making a Fanfiction that does not necessarly alter the Game’s story and events, without spoilers.
